CloseThe MetaQuip CO2 laser machine LITE2 series is MetaQuip's basic model. The LITE2 series can be supplied with a laser power of both 40W and 60W. The 60W version is a stock model, 40W on request. The LITE2 is a table model laser and a completely new design compared to the old LITE.
The MQ4040 LITE2 is a high-quality machine. The laser head used can easily be adjusted in height with it motorized work surface. In addition, this machine has a right-hand guide on both the left and the right, guaranteeing its robustness and reproducibility. Laser cutting or laser engraving is an ideal process for processing a large number of materials. The infrared laser melts or evaporates the material, allowing you to cut (high laser power) or engrave (low laser power). During the engraving, the laser will evaporate the top layer, causing the surface structure to change. A honeycomb bed is included as standard.
Larger work areaMetaQuip launches the LITE2 PLUS. The tabletop CO2 laser machine is now available with a working area of: 400 x 400mm or 600 x 400mm. More surface to easily cut or engrave larger objects! |

Suitable for home use, schools or start-upsThe MQ4040 LITE2 is perfectly suited for hobby, schools or start-ups. This is a full-fledged CO2 laser machine where beautiful pieces can be made. With a MQ4040 LITE2 you can perfectly show the process from digital design to realization. |
The MQ4040 LITE2 CO2 laser machine is perfectly suited for laser engraving of a large number of materials, such as wood, leather, textile, glass, mirror and anodised or painted metal materials and a large number of plastics.
The MQ4040 LITE2 is also very suitable for lighter cutting (3-5mm thick material) of fabrics, wood leather, textiles and a large number of plastics such as acrylate. In most cases, MetaQuip recommends the 60W version if there are plans to cut with this machine.
Laser Power | Acrylate / Plexiglass | Textile / Leather | Wood | Marble |
40W | 3-5 mm | Good results at low speeds | 2-4 mm | Too low power |
60W | 8-10 mm | Good results | 4-8 mm | Too low power |
The controller used on the MQ4040 LITE2 is the same as with the other CO2 laser machines. You can easily prepare a laser job on the fully graphic display and graphically follow the progress during cutting or engraving. This controller is very user-friendly, making the machine easy to use for (non-technical) beginners, but also for advanced users.
The MQ4040 LITE2 has a work surface of 40 x 40 cm. The machine comes standard with a knife bed on which the material to be cut or engraved is placed and a honeycomb bed. A honeycomb bed supports the material better, this is especially useful when you cut flexible materials such as fabrics or regularly make small objects. These small objects remain on the honeycomb bed after cutting.
You can prepare a laser job via the supplied laser software. You send digital designs to the laser machine and can control the laser machine with them. With this software you can work in multiple layers with separate settings in each layer, so that combined jobs with multiple engraving or cutting operations can be performed. This software is suitable for Windows, MAC OSX and Linux and available in several languages, including Dutch, English, French, etc. The supplied Dutch manual describes in detail how to operate the laser software and controller.
For laser cutting, cutting drawings in vector format are used. In the laser software you can create a simple design yourself or import a vector file. These vector files come standard from more graphic programs such as Adobe Illustrator (ai format) or more technical programs such as AutoCAD or Fusion360.
The following vector formats are supported by the laser software:
In addition, the following less commonly used vector files are also supported.
With the laser software it is very easy to convert black and white (raster) images to vector files so that they can be used immediately for cutting.
The laser software also allows you to import images for laser engraving. MetaQuip often also uses PhotoGrav software for more complex images, so that the conversion of images always runs perfectly without further pre- or post-processing. The laser software supports the following formats:
MetaQuip closed CO2 laser machines are laser class 1 products: safe under all circumstances. This is measured and recorded in measurement reports drawn up by an independent laser safety authority. A higher laser class is less safe.
Class 4 machines may only be used if additional protection and laser goggles are used. These types of machines work with high power invisible laser light which can cause burns, eye damage and even blindness for the operator of the machine, but also for bystanders.
Take laser safety and CE certification seriously when purchasing these types of laser machines and request laser safety reports and technical construction files from your laser machine supplier!
The MQ4040 LITE2 complies with all applicable CE machine guidelines and laser safety standards. The MQ4040 LITE2 is a class 1 laser device which means that under normal use no one can be exposed to laser radiation. The moment the laser is opened, all lasers immediately switch off and the current laser job is interrupted. Safety first.
The MQ4040 LITE2 is supplied with an industrial air extractor to remove vapor and dust released during laser processing . Air compressor that ensures that the lens and laser head remain clean for as long as possible and industrial water cooler that ensures that the laser tube remains cooled during lasering. All you need to provide is a place for the machine, a 230VAC socket and an air exhaust duct (100mm).
Work surface 400 x 400mm, including honeycomb bed
For active cooling of the laser tube. This is a closed system.
To create overpressure at the lens, making it less likely to get dirty.
To quickly dissipate laser fumes. Required: direct exhaust air to the outside (150mm) or air filter.
Laser software to import vector files and raster images or prepare a simple laser job directly for laser processing.
1 year on the machine. 6 months on laser tubes up to 60W.

See installation of a CO2 laser machine for more information about what you should generally take into account when installing a CO2 laser.
If this machine is not in stock, the delivery time is normally between 8-12 weeks. The 60W version is normally in stock, the 40W version is on request. Inquire about current stock. You can choose to pick up your CO2 laser machine yourself or have it delivered. The weight is around 40 kg and comes in a wooden box of 150 x 82 x 43 cm. MetaQuip can also install your machine at your location and therefore gives you basic training. Select installation and training in the additional ordering options.
